Wow, this is a pretty cool little fella. No one can argue that the Japanese have the market cornered on cool robotics. Now if I could only see the mechanical interworkings underneath I could pick up on some useful animatronic tricks. Hey maybe us Haunters can pool some duckies together and buy one for the soul purpose of reverse-engineering with Halloween in mind.
OMFG! Medusa! Kraken! Pegasus! DROOOOOOOLZZZZ… This movie is gonna roxxerz our boxxerz! By Zeus please not let those be the only money shots. Only thing missing from this trailer was Bubo the owl (are they even doing him? If not then I wonder how Perseus gets the Eye from the witches?) Did I say DAMN!?!!!
SPOILER WARNING: If you do not want to see what any of these creatures are gonna look like do NOT watch the trailer.
Seeing Nick Cage as the sorcerer really makes me think Harry Dresden for some reason. And I still say The Dresden Files would totally rock adapting each book as a full length feature film as opposed to a series.
Either way this is looking like a fun flic and now makes two upcoming Cage films I’m waiting to see.
When I heard the title the first thing that came to mind was the 80′s Halloween 3: Season of the Witch. This… is not the same film nor related…
Nicolas Cage stars as a knight who must deliver the black witch to an abbey in Iraq where she can be destroyed. On the way hell breaks loose. There’s been only a handful of bad Cage films (*cough* Ghost Rider comes to mind). But this looks like a fun little medieval horror flic:
There’s been the few rare exceptions to reboots, remakes, or adaptations that I actually enjoyed or am curious about (see Clash of the Titans below). But more or less this whole thing has truly gotten out of hand and needs to stop. If there ever was an animated character that was always capable of capturing how I feel about things it’s been Foamy the Squirrel (the only damn squirrel I trust). And Foamy sums up my feelings about adaptations and reboots best below:
Man I’m really diggin on the new Clash of the Titans. Visually VERY different than the Harryhausen version from the 80′s, a lot more modern and grittier. Think the difference between Willow and Lord of the Rings visual effects wise. In particular I love the new look for the Stygian Witches (around 0:45) and I’m getting all sorts of delicious ideas for new props.
Haven’t seen it yet, check it out below:
For those can’t quite freeze-frame You Tube vids, I’ve captured 3 good snaps of the witches:
Not much going on today except getting sick as a dog (fingers crossed it isn’t H1N1 but yeah got the coughing, congestion, aches, and low grade fever).
Anyways, this little snippet raised my spirits and thought I’d share it with everyone.
