Wow, just found me a completely new source of inspirational mythos styled artwork. Being a Lovecraft fan I’m a sucker for anything with tentacles. Israel Galindo at Thoth Ascending definitely brings his Lovecraft game to the table with his work. If you’re even remotely a Lovecraftian fan you HAVE to check out his site and his work.

I’m one of those people who occasionally loves a good mashup especially when it’s two of my all time favorite holidays: Halloween and Christmas. Tim Burton set the bar on that concept back in the 90s with A Nightmare Before Christmas. I’ve seen the occasional piece from time to time but they all seem imitate Burton’s style.
This year has seen a rise in the Spooky Christmas mashups and rising to the top is Ghoul Friday’s pieces. Her latest piece is a nice little vine and holly wreath with a zombie head smack in the middle. Pure genius I say – eat your heart out Tim Burton!
